Abstract: A presentation given to the American Public Health Association on November 20, 1996 by Lawrie Mott, Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council. The presentation outlines the weaknesses of risk assessment theory in regards to protecting children from all environmental threats. It also suggests improvements for risk assessment that would make it more accurately reflect children''s experiences and provide information to reduce risk.
