Experience from a parent:

Child Made Ill by Painting Fumes

On several occasions during my child's public school career, he came home and/or had to be picked up early quite ill with a very bad headache. Sometimes there would be ensuing vomiting.

Upon questioning him, I learned that there was maintenance painting going on during school hours. Windows were kept closed as this painting was happening during the winter months. With several hundred children in school, I wonder if any other children were affected?

Perhaps this sort of maintenance could be done during non-winter months where windows could be opened to allow for fresh air?
